Angelica Sandoval
Angelica Sandoval is a sculptor and designer whose installations defy the traditional conventional aspects of porcelain. Sandoval’s work revolves around the act of synthesizing materials and space in conjunction with light. June of 2017 Sandoval was selected as one of the Women to Watch-Metals by the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Greater Kansas City Area Chapter. She has been in group exhibitions at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Perioria, IL and Ponoma, CA. June of 2022 Sandoval had a solo exhibition at PLUG Gallery in Kansas City. Sandoval was awarded the Arts KC Inspiration Grant in 2012 toward a light installation in the Historic Power & Light Building and again in 2014 for a traveling welding workshop, titled Brazen Mavens. Sandoval was an artist in residence of the Charlotte Street Foundation Urban Culture Project 2011-2012 and Casa Marles in Llorenc del Penedes, Spain. Angelica Sandoval received a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and a Master's degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has taught at the Kansas City Art Institute, Avila University and Johnson County Community College.
